Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ronald McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendrick Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kendrick Perkins is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronald McCoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kendrick Perkins!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCoy tries to clinch
and Perkins counters with a left and a right that stings McCoy.
Perkins fails with the takedown.
McCoy tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Perkins counters with a single leg into guard. McCoy didn't expect that.
McCoy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McCoy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perkins on the ground.
McCoy controlling the pace.
McCoy blocks the strikes from Perkins.

Perkins looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCoy content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Perkins is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McCoy tries to stand but can't do so whilst Perkins controls his leg.
McCoy trying to pass the guard but Perkins defending well.

McCoy is working for a kimura but Perkins is defending it quite comfortably.
McCoy wants to stand up but Perkins is controlling the position.
McCoy stalling.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Perkins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McCoy is working away from the top position though.

Perkins looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
McCoy is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
McCoy controlling the action here.
McCoy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Perkins keeps working.
McCoy slows the pace down in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Perkins is trying to control but can't.
Perkins lands with a few short shots to the body.

Perkins kicks McCoy off and gets back to his feet.
McCoy shoots in looking for a takedown. Perkins tries to sprawl out of it but McCoy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Perkins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Perkins throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McCoy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Perkins is in McCoy's guard.
Perkins stands up over McCoy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McCoy wants to stand up but Perkins is controlling him.
McCoy controlling the position.
Perkins trying to control the position from guard on top but McCoy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McCoy is adopting a defensive guard.

McCoy scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Perkins has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as McCoy is landing a low percentage of strikes.
McCoy tries to clinch up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Perkins circles away from the clinch attempt.
Perkins shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McCoy throws a big counter combination but Perkins scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
McCoy shoots for a takedown but Perkins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Perkins with the counter takedown but McCoy avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kendrick Perkins dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


McCoy moves in looking to clinch but Perkins pushes him off.
McCoy looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Perkins connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
McCoy fails to land the takedown.
McCoy throws a series of punches but Perkins avoids them all with ease.
Perkins moves out of range as McCoy strikes.
McCoy misses with an uppercut.
Perkins throws a counter combo.
McCoy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Perkins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McCoy looks to land a right hand but Perkins moved out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Perkins looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Perkins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McCoy is keeping the position for now.
Perkins prevents McCoy from getting back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Perkins thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
McCoy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Perkins is one step ahead there.
Perkins with a flurry of punches that miss.
Kendrick Perkins has got the better of the ground game so far.
Perkins slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Perkins has hold of McCoy's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! McCoy tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Perkins cranks the arm and McCoy screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from McCoy, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Kendrick Perkins!
Our winner, Kendrick Perkins, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
