Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rose Red!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Red takes one on the button.
Red connects with an inside leg kick.
Red misses with a hook. Skinner ducked under it nicely.
Red throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Skinner sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A little feinted left hand from Skinner on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Skinner lands a jab to the head.
Red blocks a jab.
Skinner misses with a straight left.
Red throws a hook but Skinner blocks it.
Skinner slips a jab from Red.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Red throws a lazy right hand but Skinner sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Red misses the jab.
Skinner avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Red fails in his attempt to clinch.
Skinner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Red.
Skinner with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Red throws out a loose jab but Skinner uses good head movement to avoid it.
Red scores with a decent looking hook.
A left lands for Skinner.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Red misses with an uppercut.
Skinner looks to land a right hand but Red moved out of range.
Skinner throws a lazy right hand but Red sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Skinner listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Skinner misses with a hook. Red ducked under it nicely.

Red slips under a jab from Skinner.
Skinner throws a hook but Red avoids it easily.
Red avoids the body shot from Skinner.
Skinner walks into a left hand.
Eric Skinner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Red throws a counter combo.
Skinner throws a lazy right hand but Red sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Red tries to clinch but Skinner is having none of it.
Red throws a head kick but Skinner moves out of range.
It looked like Skinner wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Skinner looks to land a combination but Red avoids it well.

Skinner looks to score with a jab to the body but Red is just out of range.

and Skinner counters with a stiff right hand.
Red blocks a jab.
Skinner misses with an uppercut. Red saw that one coming.
Skinner throws an overhand right that lands on Red's shoulder, as Red tries to avoid the shot.
Skinner misses with a double jab.
Skinner dodges the punch combination from Red.
Skinner swings widly with a right hand
and Red cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Red closes the distance and clinches.
Skinner working aggressively here.
Red blocking some punches.
A short right from Skinner.
Red tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Skinner just stands there and leans against the cage.

Skinner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Red takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


Red is rocked!
Red ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Red is still on wobbly legs! Can Skinner finish him?

Red shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Red was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Skinner explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Red seems to have recovered his senses.
No joy there for Red, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Red looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Skinner misses the jab.
A punch combination from Skinner misses.
Red gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Skinner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Skinner checks the leg kick.
Skinner was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Skinner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Red moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Skinner moves away from the strike by Red.
Skinner looks to land a left hand but Red moved out of range nicely.
Skinner swats away the attempt to clinch by Red.
Red walks into a left hand.
We've been informed that Red has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Skinner takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Skinner throws a jab but it's blocked by Red.
Skinner tries to bum rush Red with a series of wild strikes but Red uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A big left from Red misses.
A little feinted left hand from Skinner on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Skinner throws a sloppy body shot
and Red connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Skinner displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like Rose Red has been cut.
Red throws a wild hook but Skinner just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Red gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Skinner raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eric Skinner!
After the fight, Eric Skinner was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
