Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mel Huff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Billy Boom has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mel Huff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Boom!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boom darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Huff tries to kick Boom off in order to stand up. Boom Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Boom decides to stand up, so the ref orders Huff to his feet.
Huff tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Boom defends well and Huff ends up having to push Boom into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Billy Boom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boom gets the takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Huff's face as Boom controls the position.
Boom wants to lay and pray for a moment but Huff keeps working.
Boom in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Huff can't do much from the bottom here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Boom tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Boom trying to control the action but Huff is working from the bottom.
Boom tries to score with some ground and pound. Huff controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Boom stands up and beckons Huff to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Boom shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Huff wants to stand back up but Boom manages to pass into side control.
Boom throws a strike aimed at the side of Huff's head but Huff avoids it well.
Huff tries to escape but Boom is in control.
Boom taking a break here but Huff is having none of it and regains half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Huff is looking to improve his position.
Boom not doing much here.
Boom is looking to take a break and control but Huff is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Huff wants to control but Boom is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Boom sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Huff defending well though.
Huff is not content to let Boom control the position.
Boom is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Boom throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Boom is working for a submission of some sort.
Boom is taking a breather. Huff says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Boom dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Boom gets a takedown into half guard.
Boom stalling.
Huff avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Boom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boom stalling away here and it's allowed Huff to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Boom decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Huff, up you get!

Boom throws a nice looking combination but Huff bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Huff closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boom circles away.

Boom drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Boom stays in close to Huff's body and controls the position.
Huff tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Boom throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Huff works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Huff keeping moving, preventing Boom from controlling successfully.
Boom has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Boom wants to stand and escape but instead Huff has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Boom. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Boom is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Huff chips away with some ground and pound.
Huff throws an elbow that misses. Boom uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Huff's guard. Nice move by Boom!

Boom wants to stand and escape but instead Huff has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Huff lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Boom working for a triangle but Huff defends it easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Huff throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boom works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Boom bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Huff's guard.

Huff looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Boom is looking to work some ground and pound but Huff has wrist control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Boom postures up.
Billy Boom has got the better of the ground game so far.
Boom wants to control from the top but Huff keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Boom showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Huff's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Boom clinches with his opponent.

Boom has Huff pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Boom pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Huff tumbling to the mat - Boom dives into Huff's guard.

Boom stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Huff swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Boom throws a strike but Huff rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Boom utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Boom wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Huff is now in half guard.

Boom slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Boom looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Boom tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Huff postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Huff landing with the ground and pound.
Huff scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Huff is fighting to break Boom's control of his arms but Boom is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Huff accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Huff throws a big right hand that misses.

Boom looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Huff connects with a couple of short punches.

Boom working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Huff doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Huff manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Boom takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Boom has momentary wrist control but Huff slips an elbow through the middle.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Huff accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Huff working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Boom's head.
Huff is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Huff is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mel Huff has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Billy Boom is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Huff pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Boom throws a counter combo.

Mel Huff showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Boom has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
