The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jeferson takes one on the button.
Murphy connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Murphy lands the left hand.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jeferson.
Murphy is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Jeferson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Murphy circles away.
Murphy swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Jeferson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Murphy avoids it really well and circles away.
Brendan Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Jeferson.
Murphy buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Murphy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Murphy is keen to just control but Jeferson is a slippery customer.

Jeferson is in a horrible position here. Murphy smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Murphy has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jeferson's face.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Murphy! Jeferson is hurt baaadly! Murphy is firing away with more strikes - Jeferson is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
