Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ingemar Anders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anders has chosen Gods Son as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ingemar Anders has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Bruce Armstrong!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Ingemar Anders!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anders swats away the attempt to clinch by Armstrong.
Anders is looking to slow Armstrong down with leg kicks.

Armstrong is looking to clinch but Anders is avoiding it.

Armstrong has taken the fight to the clinch.
Armstrong jumps guard but Anders turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Anders's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Anders duly obliges.

Armstrong takes a shot to the body in his stride.

and Anders counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Anders misses with a wild body shot.

Armstrong darts in and clinches Anders up against the cage.

Armstrong prevents a body shot from Anders.

Anders manages to break the clinch.
Anders fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Armstrong tries to clinch but Anders moves out of range.
Armstrong moves in looking to clinch but Anders pushes him off.
Armstrong fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Anders.

Bruce Armstrong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight stays on the outside here - Armstrong looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Anders counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Armstrong thinking.

Armstrong shoots in for a takedown but Anders shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Armstrong shoots for a takedown but Anders saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Armstrong shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Anders's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Anders is looking to work some ground and pound but Armstrong has wrist control.

Armstrong wants to control but Anders is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Armstrong is looking for a sweep. Anders is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Anders is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Armstrong shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Armstrong takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Armstrong tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Anders manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Anders looks to land a left hand but Armstrong moved out of range nicely.
Armstrong turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Armstrong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Anders will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Armstrong is trying to pull guard but Anders turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Anders tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Armstrong's elbow.
Anders presses Armstrong against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Armstrong tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Anders just stands there and leans against the cage.

Anders breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Armstrong on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Some bone on bone action there as Armstrong checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Anders misses with a body shot.
Armstrong throwing a counter right hand but Anders manages to avoid it.
Anders is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Armstrong rather than just go for the knockout.

Anders has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Armstrong changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Anders looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Armstrong goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Anders rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Armstrong's guard! Nice work there by Anders!

Armstrong escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Anders gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Armstrong had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Anders defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ingemar Anders showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Anders feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Armstrong's calf.

and Anders counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Armstrong shoots in looking for a takedown but Anders manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Armstrong's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Armstrong has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Anders should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Armstrong has tightened it up now! Anders should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Bruce Armstrong thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Ingemar Anders was interviewed post fight and said 'This proves that the last match was no fluke. Good luck and have fun dismantling and terrorizing this weight class bro, good matches! Until we fight again.'.
