The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Aoki.
We've been informed that Dick has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

A nice side step and Dick releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dick passes Aoki's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

and Aoki counters with a right hand to the body.
Dick throws a lazy right hand but Aoki sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

enabling Dick to counter with a crisp jab.

Dick moves forwards but Aoki connects with a nice, crisp jab.

and Dick counters with a three punch combo that has Aoki backing up. Aoki nods at Dick to acknowledge the strikes.

Aoki thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dick if he has to take too many more of those.

Chan Sung Aoki dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Dick throws a nice looking combination but Aoki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dick has clasped his hands together around Aoki's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Dick uses his free foot to push down on Aoki's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Aoki.

Aoki bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chan Sung Aoki.

Chan Sung Aoki really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that REAR NAKED CHOKE NUTRITION logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
The defeated Editiny Dick had this to say: 'Good match, and now I'll be going back home to my wife whose as usual, has a surprise for me on bed'.
