The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Geissen misses with a left hand
and Waterson counters with a nice leg kick.
Geissen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Waterson throws out the jab.
Geissen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Waterson at a distance.
Waterson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Waterson there as he acknowledges the shot.
Geissen throws an overhand right that lands on Waterson's shoulder, as Waterson tries to avoid the shot.

and Waterson counters with a body kick that stops Geissen in his tracks momentarily.
Waterson jabs Geissen right on the nose. Geissen blinks but takes it well.
Geissen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Waterson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Geissen manages to avoid it.
Geissen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
It looked like Waterson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Geissen.
Geissen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Waterson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

It looks like Shawn Geissen has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Geissen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

and Waterson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Geissen's knee momentarily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Waterson. Geissen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Geissen bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
We've been told by Waterson's head coaches at The Barracks - LOD that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

and Waterson counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Geissen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Geissen misses with a body shot.
Geissen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Geissen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Waterson can pounce on him.

Geissen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Geissen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Waterson counters with a nice uppercut.
Geissen jabs Waterson to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The fighters circling - Geissen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Waterson throws a shot from downtown. Geissen moves away and avoids it.

Waterson quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

and Waterson counters with a head kick that drops Geissen to the mat! Geissen scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
