PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Buck Futter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlton Leach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlton Leach will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Buck Futter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlton Leach!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Leach.
Leach lands a nice hook to Futter's body. Futter takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Futter tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Futter looks for a takedown but Leach sprawls well.
Futter shoots in for a takedown but Leach shows good takedown defense.

Futter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Leach feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Futters jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Leach lunges at Futter with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Futter's hand.

Futter looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

We've been hearing that Futter has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Leach can do anything to dispel that myth.

Futter has control of Leach's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Leach regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Leach is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Futter doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Leach counters with a two punch combo.

Futter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Futter wants to work for an arm triangle but Leach is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Leach tries to roll over but Futter keeps him under control.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


A left and a right from Leach both land. Nice combination.
Leach bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Futter's head backwards.
Buck Futter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Leach changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Futter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Leach napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Futter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Leach knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Futter wants to control but Leach is keeping him busy.

Leach stops Futter from passing to mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Futter is staying tight to Leach's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Futter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
