The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayor throws a big shot that misses.
Mayor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
It appears Venger was looking to counter with a kick there.
Venger throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Mayor throws a looping overhand right but Venger ducks down to avoid it.
Venger was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Tommy Mayor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mayor's coach down at The Jungle Elite MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mayor's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Mayor connects with a good right hand that stumbles Venger. Venger circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Venger, as that shot connected.

The cut above Tommy Mayor's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

That was a close round but I would say that Vladimir Venger will probably get the nod.

Mayor lands a big uppercut and Venger crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Venger looks OK. Mayor waves Venger back to his feet!
