Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Wessel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Green comes to the cage accompanied by that go- keak da sneak. Eric Wessel will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Wessel!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wessel looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Green has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Green is trying to work for a kimura but Wessel is defending well.
Green is pressing down on Wessel's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wessel is holding on for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Wessel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Green swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Wessel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wessel throws a right hand that Green ducks under and follows up with a left that Green also avoids with ease.
Wessel doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Green counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Green working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Green is working Wessel over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Green lands a couple of digs.
Green advances to half guard.
Green is thwarting Wessel's attempts to control the position.
Wessel wants to get back to his feet.
Green wants to free his trapped foot but Wessel is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Wessel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Green. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Green bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Wessel moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Eric Wessel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Green, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
