Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jerrold Vaughan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adriano Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adriano Lima is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Vaughan enables Lima to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Vaughan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Vaughan is working hard here to advance position.

Lima stands up from Vaughan's guard - Lima perhaps looking for a knockout.

Lima looking to score a takedown here. Vaughan is defending well but Lima drives through and ends up in Vaughan's guard.

Vaughan kicks Lima off and gets to his feet.

Vaughan gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Lima has one foot on Vaughan's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Vaughan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lima tries to avoid it but Vaughan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lima to the ground. Lima escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vaughan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lima circles away.
Lima thinks about the counter body kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerrold Vaughan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lima throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vaughan was covering up waiting for the punch and Lima finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Vaughan is breathing heavily.

Lima slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vaughan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Lima has gone for a leg lock! Vaughan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lima's guard.

Vaughan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Vaughan is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Vaughan won't allow Lima to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lima is on top in guard.

Lima is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vaughan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vaughan has escaped and now he's on top!

Lima is trying to control the position but Vaughan postures up.
Lima pulls Vaughan in close to prevent any damage.
Lima wants to get back to his feet but Vaughan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Vaughan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lima, up you get!

Lima darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Vaughan has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Lima is on him like a limpet, forcing Vaughan back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lima breaks from the clinch.

Lima shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lima was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Vaughan explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vaughan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lima looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Vaughan decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Jerrold Vaughan will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lima is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vaughan's half guard.

Vaughan manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Vaughan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lima gets the underhooks and prevents it.
