Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Paulik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brock Newman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Paulik!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paulik closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Paulik effectively controlling the action here.
Newman is looking for a takedown.

Newman manages to break the clinch.
Paulik scores with a hook to the body. Newman takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Newman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Paulik swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Newman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Tony Paulik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Paulik has taken the fight to the clinch.
Newman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Newman tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Paulik avoids it.

Paulik feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Newman sprawling to the canvas! Newman rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Paulik finish him?!


It looks like Brock Newman has been cut.
Paulik swats away the attempt to clinch by Newman.

Paulik forces Newman back against the cage and clinches.
Newman is trying to drag Paulik to the mat but Paulik just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brock Newman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Newman manages to break the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Paulik misses with a leg kick.
Newman moves out of range of the body kick.
Newman tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Paulik manages to circle out of the way.

Newman tries to move into range but Paulik moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Newman changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Newman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Paulik pulls his leg out and moves away.

enabling Newman to counter with a crisp jab.

Paulik is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Paulik has had enough of the clinch but Newman keeps him there for the moment.

Newman keeps control of Paulik as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Newman ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Newman no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Paulik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Newman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Paulik is pushing Newman up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

A looping hook to the body misses from Paulik. Newman does a little dance to reset his feet.
Paulik keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Newman gets tackled into the cage by Paulik. Paulik maintains the clinch.
Newman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Paulik just stands there and leans against the cage.
Paulik wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Newman has him pressed against the cage.

A bit of stalling here from Paulik.
Paulik tries to land knees in the clinch but Newman avoids the damage to the body.
Paulik lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Newman or not.

Paulik escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Newman darts in looking for a takedown but Paulik gets double underhooks and turns Newman into the cage.
Paulik scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Brock Newman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Paulik closes the distance and pushes Newman back into the cage.

Paulik's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Paulik is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Newman rather than just go for the knockout.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
