The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plata shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Plata misses with a body kick.
Haapana leaves Plata with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Haapana digs a good hook to Plata's body.
Haapana has taken the fight to the clinch.
Plata wants to break free but Haapana has control.

It looks like Jojo Plata has been cut.
Haapana has Plata pressed against the cage. He pushes Plata back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Haapana throws a beautiful elbow that sends Plata crashing to the floor! Haapana piles on the pressure with more strikes! Plata is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hannu Haapana!
In his post fight interview, Hannu Haapana started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
