Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Troy Hooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Troy Hooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alex Summers!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooper misses with a straight right.
Hooper has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Hooper shoots in looking for a takedown. Summers tries to sprawl out of it but Hooper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Summers manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Summers flicks out a counter leg kick but Hooper steps away.
Summers gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Hooper counters with a straight right hand.
Hooper pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Hooper sets himself, and Summers steps forward looking for the clinch! Hooper avoids it this time.
Hooper needs to keep his hands up - Summers had a free shot at his head there.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Summers has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hooper has Summers pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hooper pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Summers tumbling to the mat - Hooper dives into Summers's guard.

Hooper looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Summers with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hooper working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Summers is looking to control Hooper's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Summers avoid being mounted?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Summers had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hooper defends it easily.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

A nice side step and Summers releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Hooper throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Summers tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hooper is in Summers's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hooper got a little sloppy there for a moment and Summers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hooper has managed to get both his arms back between Summers's legs - danger averted.

Summers escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hooper gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
