Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hilario Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glossu Rabban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hilario Jefferson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Glossu Rabban!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rabban looking to score a takedown here. Jefferson is defending well but Rabban drives through and ends up in Jefferson's guard.
Rabban looking to pass the guard.
Rabban is looking to work some ground and pound but Jefferson has wrist control.
Rabban pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jefferson is keeping the position for now.
Jefferson wants to stand and escape but Rabban is having none of it.

Rabban drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jefferson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jefferson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jefferson!

Rabban has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rabban is trying to escape the position but Jefferson is controlling the position.
Rabban can't do much from the bottom here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jefferson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rabban is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Jefferson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Jefferson is trying to get an arm triangle but Rabban is defending well.
Jefferson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rabban keeps working.
Rabban is trying to control Jefferson's posture but Jefferson avoids it.

Jefferson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Rabban manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jefferson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rabban has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jefferson is working away from the top position though.
Rabban is not content to let Jefferson control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jefferson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rabban has managed to free his arm - good work.
Rabban wants to control but Jefferson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Rabban is trying to get back to full guard.
Jefferson stops Rabban from getting back to his feet.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Rabban is doing well to control the position and prevent Jefferson from advancing to side control.

Jefferson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rabban has his hands clasped together around Jefferson's back. He's all about the action.
Jefferson is thwarting Rabban's attempts to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rabban moves out of range of the body kick.
Jefferson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jefferson wants it to stay on the feet.
Rabban throws a head kick that misses.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jefferson enables Rabban to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jefferson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Jefferson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rabban controls the pace.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jefferson has control of Rabban's left arm, preventing Rabban from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Jefferson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Horrible takedown attempt by Rabban or perhaps it was just good defense by Jefferson, which made it look bad.
Rabban fails to land the takedown.
Rabban dodges the punch combination from Jefferson.
Glossu Rabban seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Jefferson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rabban takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Jefferson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Rabban shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jefferson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rabban lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Jefferson controls Rabban momentarily but Rabban frees himself.
Jefferson pulls Rabban in close to prevent any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rabban passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Jefferson wants to control but Rabban postures up.
Rabban throwing strikes but Jefferson manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Rabban manages to get back to half guard.
Jefferson is controlling the pace.

Rabban tries to get to full guard but Jefferson has control of the leg.

Jefferson is working for a submission of some sort.
Jefferson is thwarting Rabban's attempts to control the position.

Rabban actively working from the bottom here.
Jefferson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rabban's head.

Jefferson wants to work for an arm triangle but Rabban is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Rabban has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jefferson is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rabban might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jefferson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jefferson wants to work for an arm triangle but Rabban is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jefferson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rabban does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jefferson content to control rather than advance.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Rabban is concentrating on defense, preventing Jefferson from advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Rabban shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jefferson's guard.
Jefferson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Rabban dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hilario Jefferson will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Rabban looking for a triangle here. Jefferson is fighting it but it looks tight! Rabban pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Jefferson is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Glossu Rabban!
In his post fight interview, Glossu Rabban started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
