PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Boothe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Krukowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Boothe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Krukowski!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krukowski avoids a punch combination nicely.
Krukowski tries to counter with a clinch but Boothe shakes him off and moves away.
Krukowski on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Boothe throws a sloppy head kick and Krukowski moves out of range easily.
Boothe jabs Krukowski to the body, keeping him at a distance.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Krukowski crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Boothe - the referee stops the clock and Krukowski gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Boothe. Krukowski manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Krukowski has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Kevin Krukowski has been cut.
Boothe lands a jab to the head.
A big right from Krukowski misses.

Krukowski lands a left and a right that send Boothe crashing to the mat, dazed. Krukowski thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Boothe is rocked!


It looks like Thomas Boothe has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Krukowski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boothe moves away.
Boothe looks to score with a jab to the body but Krukowski is just out of range.

Krukowski gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Krukowski tries to pull guard but Boothe won't allow it.
Boothe lands a nice shot to the body.

Boothe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Krukowski is looking to clinch but Boothe is avoiding it.
Boothe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Krukowski throws a jab when Boothe was well out of range.
Boothe is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Krukowski slips under a jab from Boothe.
Krukowski is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Krukowski throws a sloppy head kick
and Boothe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Krukowski forces Boothe back against the cage and clinches.
Boothe lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Boothe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Boothe fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Krukowski checks it well.
Boothe blocks a jab.
Nice uppercut lands for Boothe. That snapped Krukowski's head back.
Krukowski looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Boothe feints and then cracks Krukowski's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Krukowski down.
Boothe throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Boothe cracks a nice hook into Krukowski's ribs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boothe is looking to slow Krukowski down with leg kicks.

Krukowski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Krukowski darts in looking for a takedown but Boothe gets double underhooks and turns Krukowski into the cage.
Boothe half committed to a counter leg kick.
Good exchange - Boothe coming out on top.
Boothe swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Krukowski.
Thomas Boothe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A nice leg kick lands there from Krukowski.
Boothe misses with a kick to the body.

Boothe works Krukowski's body with a nice hook.
Boothe jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Krukowski throws a sloppy head kick and Boothe moves out of range easily.

Boothe throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Krukowski stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Boothe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Krukowski manages to avoid it.

Boothe lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


That has opened up Kevin Krukowski's cut even more.
Boothe chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Boothe with a jab.
Krukowski takes a kick to the side of the head.
Boothe thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Krukowski if he has to take too many more of those.
Boothe moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Krukowski fails in his attempt to clinch.
Boothe slips a straight right by Krukowski.
Krukowski is looking to clinch but Boothe is avoiding it.
A quick step to the side and Boothe tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Boothe fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Krukowski takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.


The cut above Kevin Krukowski's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Boothe misses the shot to the body.
Krukowski looks to land a combination but Boothe avoids it well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boothe feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Krukowski's calf.
Boothe darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boothe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A decent looking cross lands there for Boothe.
Krukowski is looking to clinch but Boothe is avoiding it.
Boothe throwing a counter right hand but Krukowski manages to avoid it.
Boothe is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Krukowski scores with a hook to the body. Boothe takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Boothe stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Boothe gets tackled into the cage by Krukowski. Krukowski maintains the clinch.
Boothe works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Krukowski tries to pull guard but Boothe won't allow it.
Thomas Boothe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Krukowski.
Boothe digs a right hand underneath Krukowski's ribcage. Krukowski let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Boothe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A big left from Krukowski misses.
Krukowski has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Boothe finds it's way round the side to connect with Krukowski's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Krukowski takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


Krukowski is rocked!


Kevin Krukowski's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Krukowski on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Krukowski is still on wobbly legs! Can Boothe finish him?
Boothe throws a nice outside leg kick.
A lazy left from Boothe finds it's target.
Krukowski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Boothe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Krukowski's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
A shot to the liver by Boothe. Beautiful body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas Boothe dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Boothe lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Krukowski falls backwards - clearly groggy! Boothe dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thomas Boothe!
After the fight, Thomas Boothe was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
