Horrible takedown attempt by Matracardie or perhaps it was just good defense by Shavershian, which made it look bad.
Shavershian falls off balance throwing a combination
and Matracardie counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Shavershian thinking.
Matracardie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Matracardie tries to clinch there but Shavershian circles away.
Matracardie takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Dom Matracardie has been cut.

Matracardie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Matracardie wants to get back to his feet but Shavershian passes into half guard.

Let's hope that Shavershian has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

It looks like Shavershian might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Shavershian is continuing to stall.

Shavershian is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Matracardie with him. Matracardie is trying to defend but Shavershian has an arm under the chin now! Matracardie grimaces and is forced to tap out!
