Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mariano Abel!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Abel 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Abel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Abel throws a sloppy head kick and Cooper moves out of range easily.
Abel thumps Cooper with a low kick.
Cooper looks to land a combination but Abel avoids it well.
Cooper connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Abel momentarily.
Nice jab there from Cooper.
Abel is rocked!
Cooper scores with a jab to the jaw.
Abel is still on wobbly legs! Can Cooper finish him?
Cooper fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Abel to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Abel looks to clinch but Cooper throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Abel taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). John Cooper!
