Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Simeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shawn Jones told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Simeon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shawn Jones!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Chris Dean and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones goes for a double leg but Simeon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Simeon continues to drive forward.
Jones has closed the distance and engaged Simeon in a clinch.
Jones tries for a takedown. No joy.
Simeon drags the fight down to the ground.
Simeon wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.
Jones is pushing down on Simeon's leg trying to pass to half guard. Simeon is fighting to maintain full guard but Jones has managed to sneak the leg through.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Simeon looks up at the clock and then as Jones takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Simeon smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Jones parries the strikes from Simeon easily there. Simeon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jones to escape.

Simeon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Simeon off to one side.

Simeon is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jones's half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Simeon decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Jones tries to clinch but Simeon moves out of range.
Jones fails to land the takedown.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Simeon as he jumps to the side.

Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jones tries to clinch but Simeon moves out of range.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Jones crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Simeon - the referee stops the clock and Jones gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Simeon. Jones manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Simeon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Simeon shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Simeon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Simeon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
