Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benjamin BK (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henry comes to the cage accompanied by Unashamed. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Henry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Benjamin BK!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
BK chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Henry can pounce on him.
Henry throws a leg kick that misses.
BK uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Henry.
Nice cross by BK.

BK scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
BK working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Henry is looking for a sweep.
Henry avoids any damage from the ground and pound of BK.

BK lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Henry is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but BK has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Henry's coaches at Tri-Force MMA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
BK wants to lay and pray for a moment but Henry keeps working.
Henry takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Henry sneaks out the side door and pushes BK away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
BK blocks the body kick.
BK takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
BK throws a leg kick but Henry checks it.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from BK, right into the meat.
BK fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Crunch! Henry slams his shin into BK's torso.
BK misses with an uppercut
and Henry counters with a nice body shot.
BK misses with a straight left.
Henry fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but BK avoids it really well and circles away.
Henry tries to clinch up but BK circles away and keeps his distance.

Henry looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
BK changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
BK uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Henry.
BK moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Henry throws a head kick that misses.
BK displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Henry throws out the jab.

BK lands a nice looking kick to the body. Henry takes a step back to recover.

BK shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. BK showed some decent athleticism there.
BK looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Henry is trying to defend against the ground and pound but BK scores with a couple of nice shots.
BK has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Henry is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Henry is trying to maintain the position but BK is very close to passing his half guard.

Henry is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but BK pulls his head out easily.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A jab lands there for BK.
BK misses with a looping right.
BK misses the shot to the body.
Henry appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
BK throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Henry finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
BK throws a body shot but no joy.
Henry throws a body punch but BK moves out of range.
BK flicks out a counter leg kick but Henry steps away.
Henry throws a lazy uppercut
and Henry takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
BK misses with a kick to the body
and Henry counters with a body kick that stops BK in his tracks momentarily.
Henry takes one to the chin there.
A kick lands to the mid section there for BK.
BK takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
BK is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
BK moves out of range as Henry throws a body kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
BK lands a nice leg kick that just misses Henry's sensitive parts.
BK has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

BK tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Henry defends well and BK ends up having to push Henry into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Henry throws a body shot but no joy.
BK takes a swing at Henry's ribcage but misses.
Good shot there by BK.
Benjamin BK seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Henry closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into BK's guard.
Henry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. BK swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Henry throws a big right hand that misses.
Henry is working BK over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Henry working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Henry looking to sit in guard and control but BK gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

BK lands a couple of digs.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as BK accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Henry is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and BK defends well.
BK wants to control from the top but Henry keeps moving.
BK won't allow Henry to sweep him here.
BK trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
BK stops Henry from standing up.
BK lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Henry working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because BK has passed into half guard!
BK is nestled in close to Henry, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
BK takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Henry wants to get back to full guard.
BK is stalling here. Henry is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! BK seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Henry has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

BK takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Henry will probably get the nod.

BK swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Henry.


It looks like John Henry has been cut.
BK looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
BK displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Henry.
BK takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
BK goes for a double leg but Henry avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Henry continues to drive forward.

BK has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
BK pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Henry went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and BK counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

BK tries to clinch but Henry moves out of range.
Henry throws a combination but it was largely blocked by BK.

BK drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Henry defends it well.
BK dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

BK lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Henry at a distance.

BK lands a nice hook to Henry's body. Henry takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Henry shoots for a double leg takedown but BK sprawls well. He's pushed Henry's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Henry. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Henry stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Henry wants it to stay on the feet.
BK leaves Henry with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Henry takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
BK throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Henry's waist but Henry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing BK off to one side.

Henry uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by BK.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from BK - that will leave a mark!

Henry swings widly with a right hand
and BK counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Henry drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

BK closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
BK lands a right hand.
Henry misses with some punches.
BK throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
BK wants to stall.
BK lands with a left to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
BK lands on the inside with an uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Henry goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Henry misses with a punch on the inside.
BK scores with a shot to the side of Henry's head.
BK misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Henry has dropped down and is working for a takedown. BK is trying to keep an underhook but Henry manages to get the takedown into half guard.
BK has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Henry is working away from the top position though.
BK gets back to full guard.

Benjamin BK comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well BK has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
