Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anton Newcombe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Felipe Cirkunov!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Newcombe as Cirkunov shoots in.

Newcombe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cirkunov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Cirkunov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Newcombe but Newcombe pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Felipe Cirkunov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cirkunov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Newcombe tries for a takedown but Cirkunov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Newcombe throws a body punch but Cirkunov moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Newcombe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cirkunov tries to avoid it but Newcombe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cirkunov to the ground. Cirkunov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

so Cirkunov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Newcombe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Newcombe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cirkunov can do to turn this around?

Newcombe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cirkunov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cirkunov lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Cirkunov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Newcombe's head.

Newcombe looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Newcombe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cirkunov is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Newcombe trying to keep a closed guard but Cirkunov is proving a slippery customer.
Cirkunov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Newcombe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Newcombe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cirkunov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Newcombe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cirkunov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cirkunov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Newcombe is looking to cinch up a triangle. Cirkunov throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Newcombe's body to avoid the submission. Newcombe has instead reached around Cirkunov's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Newcombe arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

A very excited looking Anton Newcombe rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
