Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivo Koljeno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koljeno fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lucas definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Lucas drives through with a takedown into guard.

Lucas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lucas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lucas trying to control the position from guard on top but Koljeno is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lucas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Koljeno looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Lucas is pushing down on Koljeno's leg trying to pass to half guard. Koljeno is fighting to maintain full guard but Lucas has managed to sneak the leg through.
Lucas is trying to control the action in half guard but Koljeno is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Koljeno felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Lucas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Koljeno sees it coming and defends easily.

Lucas is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Lucas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
