Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leandro De Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lou Todd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leandro De Santos!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from De Santos finds it's way through Todd's defenses.

De Santos rushes Todd and presses him up against the cage.

De Santos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Todd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Todd ducks under a wild hook from De Santos.

and Todd counters with a lovely shot to the body.

and Todd connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
De Santos thows a left - swing and a miss!
De Santos getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Todd swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
De Santos connects with a jab.
Todd throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and De Santos counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

De Santos throws a shot to the body.

De Santos closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

De Santos is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Todd has managed to free his arm - good work.

Todd knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for De Santos on the ground.

De Santos is looking for a kimura but Todd is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for De Santos to get the leverage.
Todd wants to control but De Santos is keeping busy and won't allow it.

My spies in V Elite Gym inform me that De Santos has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

De Santos is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Todd defends it well.
De Santos seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

De Santos is taking a breather. Todd says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Santos winds up and cracks Todd with a swinging punch to the side of the head.


Lou Todd's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Todd is looking to control De Santos's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Todd avoid being mounted?

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Lou Todd's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
