The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wills throws a head kick that misses.
Superior changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Wills throws a low kick, looking for Superior's leg but Superior calmly moves out of range.
Superior looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Superior has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Wills is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Superior catches Wills with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Wills uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Superior throws a hook but Wills avoids it easily.

Wills looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Superior uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wills.
And Superior tries to counter it with a takedown but Wills pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Superior goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Wills turns into him and now he's in Superior's guard.

Superior has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wills is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Superior.

Superior is looking to reverse the position.
Superior gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Superior wants to get back to full guard.
Superior tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Wills has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Wills fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Superior checks it well.
Wills lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Wills is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Superior can do to turn this around?
Wills wants to get back to striking at distance but Superior won't allow it.

Wills lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Superior or not.
Superior tries to work over Wills's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Superior gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Wills regains guard.

Wills is looking for a triangle but Superior pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Superior wants to control from the top but Wills keeps moving.
Wills is trying to keep Superior in close.
Glorious Superior has got the better of the ground game so far.
Superior sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wills's guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Superior is working for a kimura but Wills is defending it quite comfortably.
Superior wants to advance to full mount but Wills doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Wills has his foot on Superior's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Superior works his way back into a safe position though.

Wills working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Superior doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Superior manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wilson Wills.
