Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jarrod Mcgowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Roman Rousee!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgowan shoots in but no luck this time.
Mcgowan avoids the head kick by Rousee.
A quick step to the side and Mcgowan tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Rousee closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mcgowan quickly recovers to half guard.
Rousee controlling the action here.
Mcgowan is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcgowan tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Mcgowan blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rousee.
Rousee throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Mcgowan is looking for a sweep. Rousee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rousee slows the pace down in half guard.

Rousee is looking for submissions but instead, Mcgowan has regained full guard.
Rousee stays in close to Mcgowan's body and controls the position.

Rousee avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Mcgowan is working an open guard so Rousee takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
A head kick by Rousee misses

and Mcgowan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mcgowan.
A frustrated look appears on Rousee's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Rousee wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Mcgowan unloads a knee to the mid-section. Rousee lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Rousee scores with a shot to the side of Mcgowan's head.
Mcgowan is trying to pull guard but Rousee turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Mcgowan lands a knee to the body.

Rousee drags the fight down to the ground.
Rousee is pulling down on Mcgowan's head to control his posture.
Rousee looking for a sweep. Not yet Rousee, not yet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mcgowan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Rousee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mcgowan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rousee has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Mcgowan has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Rousee misses with a hook to the ribs.
Rousee is trying to break the clinch but Mcgowan is controlling him.

Rousee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Roman Rousee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rousee moves into range and clinches up with Mcgowan.

Mcgowan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mcgowan gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mcgowan takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Mcgowan pulls Rousee into guard.
Rousee landing some decent shots from guard.
Rousee working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rousee slips nicely into half guard.
Rousee slows the pace down in half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rousee prevents Mcgowan from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roman Rousee dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Rousee changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mcgowan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rousee cracks Mcgowan with a big elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rousee is staying tight to Mcgowan's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Rousee decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mcgowan to his feet.

Rousee closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mcgowan's guard.

Mcgowan kicks Rousee off and gets to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A head kick misses from Rousee.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rousee gets a takedown into half guard.

Mcgowan has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Rousee is on him like a limpet, forcing Mcgowan back against the cage.
Rousee wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mcgowan has him pressed against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Mcgowan.

Rousee jumps into guard, dragging Mcgowan to the mat.
Roman Rousee has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mcgowan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rousee works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rousee lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Rousee seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rousee throws a big elbow that misses.
Rousee is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mcgowan keeping moving, preventing Rousee from controlling successfully.

Rousee stands up and waves to Mcgowan to follow him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rousee scores with a hook to the body. Mcgowan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rousee scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rousee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Check out the look on Rousee's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Mcgowan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Rousee working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Rousee is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Mcgowan looks calm but he's in trouble here. Rousee gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Mcgowan is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Rousee lets go of the hold and Mcgowan can pop his arm back in it's socket.
