Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dijoban Totohami!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Canner!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Totohami darts in and clinches Canner up against the ropes.

Canner's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Totohami fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Canner wants to clinch
and Totohami counters with a two punch combo.
Totohami looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Canner shoots in but no luck this time.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Totohami, right into the meat.
Canner is trying hard to land a takedown here. Totohami sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Canner gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Totohami's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Totohami throws a quick inside leg kick.
Canner pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Canner takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Totohami looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Totohami misses with a head kick.
Canner steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Totohami.

Canner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Canner stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Totohami.
Canner dives in for a single leg takedown but Totohami sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Dijoban Totohami has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Canner.
Canner blocks a low kick nicely.
Canner moves in looking to clinch but Totohami pushes him off.
Dijoban Totohami seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown attempt by Canner or perhaps it was just good defense by Totohami, which made it look bad.
Totohami throws a nice inside leg kick.
Totohami rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Canner moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Totohami closes the distance and clinches.
Totohami is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Canner wants to take the fight to the mat but Totohami manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Canner tries to break free but Totohami pushes him back against the ropes.
Canner jumps guard but Totohami stands there with Canner around his waist. Canner gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Totohami is pressed up against the ropes. Canner has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Totohami down to the mat. Totohami avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Canner needs to keep his hands up - Totohami had a free shot at his head there.
Canner swats away the attempt to clinch by Totohami.
Totohami closes this distance looking for a takedown but Canner circles away.
Totohami slips a jab and a cross from Canner.
Canner takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Totohami works Canner's body with a nice hook.
Canner avoids a punch combination nicely.
Totohami throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Canner lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Totohami keeps the fight on the outside.
Totohami throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Totohami slaps away a takedown attempt from Canner, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Canner dodges the punch combination from Totohami.
Totohami lands a really nice looking cross but Canner seems unphased.
Canner dives in for a single leg takedown but Totohami sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Totohami is looking to counter punch.
Canner takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Canner looks winded!
Canner looks for a takedown but Totohami sprawls well.
As Canner tries to get set, Totohami tries to push him back and clinch up but Canner manages to avoid the attempt.
Totohami scores with a head kick. Canner tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Totohami.
Totohami fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Canner shoots in for a takedown but Totohami shows good takedown defense.
Canner takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Totohami is looking to wear down Canner with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
A solid leg kick lands there for Totohami.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Totohami fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Canner manages to avoid it.

Canner gets a clinch.
Totohami effectively controlling the action here.
Canner tries to pull guard but Totohami forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.
Totohami lands a right hand that snaps the head of Canner backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dijoban Totohami dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Canner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Totohami stuffs the takedown attempt from Canner. Canner gets slowly back to his feet.
Canner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Totohami's waist but Totohami gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Canner off to one side.
Totohami connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Canner's hands.

Canner clinches up with Totohami and pushes him back against the ropes.
Totohami is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Canner can do to turn this around?
A body shot lands from Totohami.
Canner has a couple of punches blocked by Totohami.
Canner with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Canner is trying to force a seperation but Totohami has the dominant position.
Totohami works on Canner's body with a couple of short punches.
Canner is breathing heavily.

Totohami pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Totohami cracks the inside of Canner's front leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Canner shoots for a takedown but Totohami saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dijoban Totohami has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Canner.
Canner takes a shot right to the bread basket.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Totohami here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Totohami works over Canner's head and body with a nice combination.
Totohami lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Totohami fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Canner.
Totohami turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Totohami forces Canner back against the ropes and clinches.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Totohami creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Canner's defenses.
Canner jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Totohami walks away with a smile on his face. Canner gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Totohami lands with a hook. Canner tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Totohami lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A decent looking cross lands there for Totohami.
Totohami throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Totohami scores with a nice head shot.
Canner on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Totohami lands a big head kick that sends Canner to the canvas! Totohami follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dijoban Totohami!
