Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Dragunov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Mctanned (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dragunov comes to the cage accompanied by 2Pac-Under Pressure. Sergei Dragunov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergei Dragunov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Mctanned!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dragunov misses with an uppercut

and Mctanned counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Mctanned throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mctanned with the ground and pound but Dragunov uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Dragunov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mctanned passes into half guard.
My spies in Bi-Polar Asylum LV's #1 Public Training Center inform me that Mctanned has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Mctanned works his way into full mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mctanned throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dragunov holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Mctanned tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Mctanned unloads with some shots from mount but Dragunov bucks and avoids them well.
Mctanned has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mctanned with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Mctanned lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Mctanned goes for an armbar but Dragunov turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Dragunov.

Mctanned working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Dragunov has passed into half guard!

Dragunov prevents Mctanned from improving his position.
Dragunov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Mctanned tries to get to full guard but Dragunov has control of the leg.
Dragunov tries to stand and escape but Mctanned actually recovers to full guard.
Mctanned has a closed guard, preventing Dragunov from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dragunov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Mctanned wants to sweep here but Dragunov controlling him for the moment.
Dragunov advances position into side control!
Mctanned manages to get back to half guard.
Mctanned regains full guard. Nicely done.
Dragunov wanted to stand there but Mctanned had control of the position.
Mctanned tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Mctanned isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dragunov stacks Mctanned on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dragunov!
Mctanned tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dragunov works to advance to full mount. Mctanned defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dragunov content just to control the position here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Mctanned dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mctanned takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A bone on bone clash there as Mctanned blocks the leg kick.
Mctanned looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Mctanned checks a leg kick.
Mctanned tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Dragunov misses with a body shot.
Mctanned feints the counter takedown.
Dragunov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dragunov misses with a low kick.
Mctanned drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Dragunov defends it well.
Dragunov avoids the head kick by Mctanned.
Mctanned moves out of range as Dragunov strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dragunov throws a combination that misses

and Mctanned counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Mctanned postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Mctanned forces his way into half guard.
Mctanned is nestled in close to Dragunov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Dragunov kicks Mctanned off and gets back to his feet.
Dragunov misses with a hook

and Mctanned counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mctanned is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dragunov has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mctanned is thwarting Dragunov's attempts to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mctanned tries to pass to full mount but Dragunov defends it.

Dragunov is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Mctanned has latched onto it... Big trouble! Mctanned pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Dragunov is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Mctanned!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Paul Mctanned!
Paul Mctanned took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'The Future is now'.
Sergei Dragunov spoke after the fight, saying 'i am gonna put a bullet through your head tonight.'.
