Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hillman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Jolly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Justin Jolly has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Hillman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Justin Jolly!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jolly shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hillman as he jumps to the side.
Jolly tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hillman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jolly somewhat.

Jolly gets caught napping as Hillman dives in and scores a takedown. Jolly manages to retain guard.
Hillman with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hillman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hillman wants to stand but Jolly has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Jolly pulls Hillman in close to his closed guard and prevents Hillman from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jolly keeping moving, preventing Hillman from controlling successfully.
Hillman wants to pass the guard but Jolly is keeping the position.
Jolly wants to get back to his feet but Hillman is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hillman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Jolly counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Jolly sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hillman defending well though.

Hillman is trying to get back to full guard.

Jolly seems to be looking for submissions.
Hillman is positioning himself well to prevent Jolly advancing to mount.

Hillman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hillman tries to get out of the position.
Jolly stalling.
Jolly trying to control the action but Hillman is working from the bottom.

Hillman tries to roll over but Jolly keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hillman drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hillman wanted to stand there but Jolly had control of the position.
Jolly can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hillman controls the pace.

Hillman has gone for a leg lock! Jolly slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hillman's guard.

Jolly throws a big elbow that misses.
Jolly forces his way into half guard.

Jolly is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hillman defends it well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hillman wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Justin Jolly will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jolly shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hillman pinned against the cage. Hillman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hillman is looking to counter the offense by Jolly and move into the clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Hillman. Those never looked like landing.
A telegraphed right hand from Hillman misses the target.

Jolly shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hillman is trying to defend but Jolly finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hillman is trying to stand up here but Jolly is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jolly seems to be working for a kimura but Hillman defends the submission attempt.

Jolly is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hillman is just riding it out for now. Jolly eventually gives up the hold.

Jolly wants to take a breather but Hillman is having none of it.
Jolly misses with a head shot. Hillman uses the momentum to regain guard.
Hillman is trying to control the position but Jolly postures up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hillman keeping full guard, as Jolly tries to pass.
Jolly missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hillman has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Jolly throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hillman was covering up waiting for the punch and Jolly finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jolly works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Jolly throwing shots but Hillman is blocking nicely.
Hillman trying to hold on to Jolly's head to control him but Jolly postures up.

Hillman misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Justin Jolly has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jolly prevents Hillman from improving his position.
Jolly is controlling the pace.
Hillman is looking to control Jolly's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hillman avoid being mounted?

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hillman is concentrating on defense, preventing Jolly from advancing position.

Jolly is working for a kimura but Hillman is defending it quite comfortably.
Jolly sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hillman defending well though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hillman tries a head kick but it misses.

Justin Jolly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Jolly keeps the fight on the outside.

Hillman has closed the distance and engaged Jolly in a clinch.
Hillman gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jolly.

Jolly has hold of one of Hillman's legs. Hillman is fighting the takedown attempt but Jolly gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hillman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jolly is one step ahead there.

Hillman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jolly defends it easily.

Jolly drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hillman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jolly has Hillman in his guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hillman trying to control the position from guard on top but Jolly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hillman postures up in Jolly's guard and throws a big left but Jolly blocks it.
Hillman trying to control but Jolly is working from the bottom.
Hillman throws an elbow that misses. Jolly uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hillman's guard. Nice move by Jolly!

Hillman is trying to keep Jolly in close.
Hillman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jolly's guard.


That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hillman trying to control the position from guard on top but Jolly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hillman is really struggling to control Jolly but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Jolly has his hands on Hillman's head, controlling the position.
Hillman would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Hillman passes Jolly's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jolly wants to get back to full guard.
Hillman perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Jolly clinches with his opponent.
Jolly goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hillman prevents it.
Hillman wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Jack Hillman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Justin Jolly is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I think Jolly has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
