Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gap Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gauthier St. Georges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Georges. St. Georges has chosen Jiu Jitsu as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gap Turner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gauthier St. Georges!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Steve Montenegro and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner misses with a hook to the body
and St. Georges counters with an outside leg kick.
Turner fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
St. Georges lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
St. Georges avoids the head kick by Turner.
Turner fakes the leg kick and cracks St. Georges in the body.
St. Georges cracks Turner with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
St. Georges scoring well with a low kick there.
Turner throws a series of strikes that have St. Georges backpedaling.
St. Georges stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Turner.
Turner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Turner tries to land a front kick but St. Georges steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Turner swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from St. Georges! But no joy.
Turner misses with a kick to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Turner has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Turner misses with a kick to the body.
St. Georges is trying to counter with his kicks.
Gauthier St. Georges is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Turner.
St. Georges turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Turner drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Turner tries to score with some ground and pound. St. Georges controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Turner grinds an elbow into St. Georges's temple.

Turner creates some space and throws a big elbow, but St. Georges sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
St. Georges managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Turner.

Turner tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
St. Georges struggling a bit here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Turner working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Turner misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
St. Georges tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Turner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turner working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turner scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at St. Georges to see if he's OK.

Turner thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Turner goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, St. Georges rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Turner's guard! Nice work there by St. Georges!
Turner is striking from the bottom but St. Georges uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Turner wants to control but St. Georges is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Turner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Turner is trying to maintain the position but St. Georges is very close to passing his half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
St. Georges tries to stand but can't do so whilst Turner controls his leg.
Turner is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of St. Georges's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take St. Georges's back!
St. Georges prevents Turner from getting a body triangle.
St. Georges really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Turner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Turner keeps control of the position as St. Georges tries to break free.
Turner throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gap Turner dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Turner jabs at St. Georges's body.
St. Georges throws a body punch but Turner moves out of range.
St. Georges avoids a kick to the body.
St. Georges tries a quick counter leg kick but Turner is wise to it.

Turner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. St. Georges looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
You can see the frustration on St. Georges's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Check out the look on Turner's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The strikes coming from Turner are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turner creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
St. Georges is looking to reverse the position.

Turner is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. St. Georges is trying to escape and Turner transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and St. Georges is forced to tap! Nice work there by Turner! Very nice indeed!
