Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fionn MacCumhaill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ Watt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fionn MacCumhaill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, JJ Watt!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacCumhaill looks to land a combination but Watt avoids it well.
MacCumhaill definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
MacCumhaill works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.


It looks like JJ Watt has been cut.
Watt wants to clinch up but MacCumhaill keeps it at a distance.

Watt shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
MacCumhaill tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Watt manages to move to mount!

Watt gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Fionn MacCumhaill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Watt misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from MacCumhaill.

Watt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. MacCumhaill sprawls well initially but Watt persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
MacCumhaill is looking to improve his position.

Let's hope that Watt has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
MacCumhaill wants to get back to his feet.
Watt seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
MacCumhaill wants to stand back up but Watt manages to pass into side control.
MacCumhaill wants to control but Watt postures up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Watt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Watt stops MacCumhaill from getting back to his feet.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
MacCumhaill tries to get to full guard but Watt has control of the leg.
Watt content to control rather than advance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

MacCumhaill is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Watt dives into side control.
Watt connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused MacCumhaill some visible discomfort.

Watt tries to score with some ground and pound. MacCumhaill controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watt tries to advance position but instead MacCumhaill slips a leg back in to half guard.

MacCumhaill works his way to full guard. Good work.
MacCumhaill thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Watt is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
MacCumhaill wants to sweep here but Watt controlling him for the moment.
MacCumhaill has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Watt avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Watt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Watt.

Watt thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Watt takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
MacCumhaill keeps the fight on the outside.
Watt takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Watt shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
MacCumhaill is trying to control but can't.
Watt is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
MacCumhaill wants to get back to full guard.
Watt working MacCumhaill over with strikes.
MacCumhaill won't allow Watt to pass to mount.
MacCumhaill moves into full guard.

Watt decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on MacCumhaill, up you get!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
MacCumhaill lands a jab to the nose.
MacCumhaill ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Fionn MacCumhaill will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on JJ Watt's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!



MacCumhaill cracks Watt with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Watt looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can MacCumhaill finish him?
MacCumhaill fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

MacCumhaill drops Watt with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Watt looks back up at him and smiles so MacCumhaill waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Watt is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
OH! Watt has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! MacCumhaill smells blood and charges in for the finish! MacCumhaill unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Watt sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Fionn MacCumhaill!
A relieved looking Fionn MacCumhaill thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
