Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jung Woo Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Gentry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Park's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Psy - Gentleman M/V. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jung Woo Park!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Gentry!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Park misses with a kick to the body

and Gentry holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Park's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Park throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gentry unleashes a big counter combination but Park bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Gentry lands a nice shot to the body.
Gentry lands a nice hook to Park's body. Park takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Park shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Gentry is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Park rather than just go for the knockout.

Gentry has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Park laying and praying for a moment but Gentry takes advantage and regains half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Park connects with a nice short shot to Gentry's temple.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are battling for position here. Gentry manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Park is pushing down on Gentry's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gentry is fighting to maintain full guard but Park has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gentry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Park swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Park is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gentry is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I was talking to Park's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Oh Park is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gentry drops Park with a naaaaasty hook - Park is in real trouble here! Gentry dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
