Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Roach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Harrass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harrass is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tomorrow. Bobby Roach has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Roach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Harrass!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harrass slips under a jab.
Roach shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Roach circles away from the clinch attempt.
Roach walks into a left hand.
Harrass lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Roach circles away quickly and effectively.

Roach drives through with a takedown into guard.

Harrass is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Harrass wants to sweep here but Roach controlling him for the moment.
Roach has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Roach slips nicely into half guard.
Harrass tries to roll over but Roach keeps him under control.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Roach seems to be looking for submissions.
Harrass wants to get back to full guard.
Roach wants to lay and pray for a moment but Harrass keeps working.

Harrass is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Harrass tries to get to full guard but Roach has control of the leg.

Roach is looking for submissions but instead, Harrass has regained full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Roach sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Harrass's guard.
Roach thows a huge punch but Harrass dodges it nicely.

Harrass had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Roach defends it easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harrass wants to improve his position but Roach is controlling well.

Roach seems to be working for a kimura but Harrass defends the submission attempt.
Harrass is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Roach's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Roach's back!

Harrass working for a choke but Roach reverses nicely into Harrass 's guard.
Roach passes Harrass's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Roach landing with the ground and pound.
Roach keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Harrass's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Roach postures up in Harrass's guard and throws a big left but Harrass blocks it.

Roach got a little sloppy there for a moment and Harrass has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roach has managed to get both his arms back between Harrass's legs - danger averted.
Roach not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Harrass loads up on a big right hand but Roach slips the punch.
Harrass is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Roach.
Harrass swings widly with a right hand

and Roach counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Harrass is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Roach trying to control but Harrass is working from the bottom.

Harrass escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roach gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Roach loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Harrass working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roach doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roach manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Roach seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Roach is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Roach is working for a submission of some sort.

Harrass is defending against the submission attempts here by Roach.

Roach seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Harrass does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Roach is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Harrass can do to turn this around?

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Harrass throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Harrass moves in looking to clinch but Roach pushes him off.
Roach changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Harrass displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Roach throws out the jab.
Roach drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Harrass throws a hook to the side of Roach's head but Roach sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Roach moves out of range of the strikes.
Roach keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Harrass.
Roach attempts a counter takedown but Harrass avoids it well and moves away.

Harrass misses with a wild body shot.
Roach takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Roach takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Roach takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Roach shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Roach misses with a hook. Harrass ducked under it nicely.
Harrass tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Roach defends well and Harrass ends up having to push Roach into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Harrass scores with a jab. Roach acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Roach half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Harrass throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Harrass shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Roach as he avoids it easily.

Roach has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Harrass is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Roach is not content to let Harrass control the position.
Harrass tries to pass to full mount but Roach defends it.
Roach wants to improve his position but Harrass is controlling well.
