The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Shaw.

Avila wants to control but Shaw postures up.
Shaw wants to stand but Avila has his arm trapped.

Shaw stands up and beckons Avila to his feet.
Avila tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shaw manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shaw decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Shaw wants to get back to his feet.
Shaw drops an elbow to the side of Avila's head.

Shaw seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Shaw lands a big elbow - Avila is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Shaw!
