Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jannis Arvanitidis!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duberry ducks under a wild hook from Arvanitidis.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Arvanitidis has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Arvanitidis throws a series of punches but Duberry moves out of range.
Duberry blocks a low kick nicely.
Duberry was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Duberry swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Arvanitidis looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Arvanitidis trying to control the position from guard on top but Duberry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Duberry is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Arvanitidis is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duberry trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Duberry manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Arvanitidis breaks from the clinch.

Arvanitidis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Arvanitidis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Duberry is controlling Arvanitidis's posture.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Duberry manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Arvanitidis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Arvanitidis throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Duberry sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Duberry fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Duberry is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Duberry. Arvanitidis does a little dance to reset his feet.
Duberry moves into range and connects with a jab.
Nice takedown defense from Duberry. No joy for Arvanitidis on that attempt.

Arvanitidis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Duberry is fending him off so far but Arvanitidis persists. Nope, Duberry circles away and we're back to standing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Duberry counters with a slapping leg kick.
Duberry cracks the inside of Arvanitidis's front leg.

and Arvanitidis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Arvanitidis throws a big shot that misses.
Duberry quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Duberry on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Duberry attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Duberry moves out of range of the strikes.
Arvanitidis is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Duberry pivots, looking for a leg kick but Arvanitidis is out of range and Duberry settles back down.
Duberry tries to land a front kick but Arvanitidis steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Duberry tries to close the distance and clinch up but Arvanitidis swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A big left from Arvanitidis misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jannis Arvanitidis will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Duberry feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Arvanitidis sprawling to the canvas! Arvanitidis rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Duberry finish him?!


Arvanitidis is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!
Arvanitidis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Duberry is fending him off so far but Arvanitidis persists. Nope, Duberry circles away and we're back to standing.

Duberry and Arvanitidis are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Duberry throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Arvanitidis into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Duberry knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Fidel Duberry!
A relieved looking Fidel Duberry thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
