Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tom Hewitt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Lynch!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hewitt tries to clinch but Lynch is having none of it.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lynch.

Hewitt sneaks out the side door and pushes Lynch away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Hewitt fails with an attempt to clinch.

Hewitt gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lynch to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hewitt manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Lynch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hewitt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lynch swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lynch closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hewitt to the mat! Hewitt manages to get full guard.

Hewitt is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Hewitt looking for a guillotine here but Lynch defends easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hewitt is looking to stand up but Lynch isn't so interested in that idea.

Lynch wants to stand and escape but instead Hewitt has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Lynch is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lynch wants to stand up but Hewitt is controlling him.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lynch wants to sweep here but Hewitt controlling him for the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hewitt throws Lynch to one side and escapes!
Hewitt moves out of range of the body kick from Lynch.

Lynch closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hewitt did well to prevent Lynch getting side control.
Lynch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hewitt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

It looks like Lynch might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Lynch drives through with a takedown into Hewitt's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Lynch got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hewitt has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lynch has managed to get both his arms back between Hewitt's legs - danger averted.

Hewitt has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Lynch is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Lynch has Hewitt pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lynch pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hewitt tumbling to the mat - Lynch dives into Hewitt's guard.

Lynch wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hewitt, who protects the arm well.
Hewitt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lynch can do to turn this around?

Lynch bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lynch takes a little break here. Hewitt wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Lynch working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Lynch tries to advance to mount but Hewitt denies him.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tom Hewitt will probably get the nod.
That's time! Hewitt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Hewitt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lynch falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hewitt counters with a two punch combo.

Lynch looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Tom Hewitt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hewitt regains full guard. Nicely done.
Lynch throws a strike but Hewitt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hewitt postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Lynch looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hewitt has picked Lynch up and slammed him! Lynch can't keep hold of the triangle and Hewitt manages to pass to side control!

Lynch bucks up and tries to throw Hewitt off but instead Hewitt has got his back!

Even with his hooks in, Hewitt manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Lynch rolls, trying to escape but Hewitt keeps control of the position.

You can see the frustration on Lynch's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
