Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elliott Francis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krune Rune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krune Rune has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Elliott Francis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Krune Rune!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rune decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rune tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Francis is trying to maintain the position but Rune is very close to passing his half guard.
Rune wants to pass to mount but Francis is defending the position.

Rune is working for a kimura but Francis is defending it quite comfortably.
Francis wants to control but Rune is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rune passes the guard and advances to mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Francis tries to lock up and control but Rune gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rune throwing strikes but Francis recovers to half guard. A much better position.
Francis is not content to let Rune control the position.
Rune with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Francis wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Rune postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Francis to stand up.

Rune scores with a takedown into Francis's guard.

Francis has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Rune is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Francis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rune's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Francis tries to keep at a distance but Rune has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rune has Francis pressed against the cage, preventing Francis from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Francis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Rune scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Rune controlling the action here.

Rune seems to be looking for submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Francis kicks off Rune and gets to his feet.

Rune has Francis up against the cage in a clinch.

Rune's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Francis gets caught napping as Rune dives in and scores a takedown. Francis manages to retain guard.

Francis pushes Rune off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Francis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Francis throwing shots but Rune is blocking nicely.
Francis prevents Rune from improving his position.
Rune avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Francis.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rune is doing well to control the position and prevent Francis from advancing to side control.

Francis is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rune sees it coming and defends easily.
Rune trying to control from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Elliott Francis will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Francis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Francis is trying to stall.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Rune looking to stall.
Rune lands a knee to the body.

Rune jumps into guard, dragging Francis to the mat.

Rune throws his legs up looking for a submission but Francis uses it to pass to side control.
Elliott Francis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rune is looking to reverse the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rune manages to work his way to half guard, despite Francis's best efforts.

Francis is looking for a kimura but Rune is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Francis to get the leverage.

Rune wants to control but Francis is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Rune kicks Francis off and gets back to his feet.

Rune fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Francis sprawls well initially but Rune persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rune is breathing heavily.
Rune takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Francis pushes Rune off and gets back to his feet.
Rune slaps away a takedown attempt from Francis, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Francis fails with the takedown.
As Francis backs off Rune throws a huge counter combo but Francis manages to avoid it all.
No luck for Francis with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elliott Francis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rune waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Francis.
Francis shoots and misses
and Rune counters with a series of strikes. Francis will be more careful next time no doubt.

Francis gets caught flat footed, as Rune shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Francis manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Rune pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Rune darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rune is taking a breather. Francis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rune wants to control but Francis is keeping him busy.
Francis is controlling Rune's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Rune wants to stand up but Francis has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Rune stands up out of the half guard.
Krune Rune is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Francis closes the distance and clinches.
Rune stalling in the clinch but Francis improves position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Francis tries to pull guard but Rune won't allow it.
Francis is trying to break the clinch but Rune has him pressed against the cage.
Rune lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Rune breaks from the clinch.
Rune stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rune wants it to stay on the feet.
Francis walks into a left hand.

Rune shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Francis is trying to defend but Rune finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Rune tries to stand and escape but Francis is controlling the position.
Francis is not content to let Rune control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Krune Rune showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Francis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rune swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Francis shoots in and drives through. Rune sprawls well.

Rune changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Francis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rune is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Francis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Francis struggling a bit here.

Francis is not content to let Rune control the position.
Francis is trying to control Rune's posture but Rune avoids it.

Rune is trying to ground and pound but Francis uses the momentary lack of control by Rune to regain half guard.
Rune is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Francis wants to control but Rune is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rune looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Francis is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Francis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rune swivels and escapes.

Rune moves into the clinch.

Rune manages to pull guard.
Francis is standing up over Rune. Rune looks to escape but Francis dives into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rune trying his best to control but Francis has mounted him.
Francis is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Rune is trying to escape the mount.
Rune takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rune wants to hold on but Francis pushes him away.
Francis working the ground and pound effectively.

Francis goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rune turns into him and now he's in Francis's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Francis looking to control.
Rune prevents Francis from getting back to his feet.
Francis has Rune pulled in close to control his posture.

Francis has his feet on Rune's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Francis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Krune Rune.
I think Rune has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
