The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoo lands a nice looking body kick.
Backlund misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hoo blocks a head kick by Backlund.
Backlund will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Backlund walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hoo checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Backlund throws the kick towards the body but Hoo avoids it.
Hoo misses with a looping left.
Backlund misses with a head kick.
Backlund throws a sloppy head kick and Hoo moves out of range easily.
It looked like Hoo was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Backlund.
Hoo throws a good cross that connects.
Hoo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hoo lands with a thumping leg kick.
Backlund connects with a leg kick. Hoo looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Hoo fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

The fighters circle momentarily. Hoo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Backlund shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hoo as he avoids it easily.

Backlund pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Hoo looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Nice body kick there by Hoo.

Hoo cracks the inside of Backlund's front leg.
Kimroy Hoo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hoo drops Backlund with a huge uppercut! Backlund drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Hoo is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
