Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aurelio Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cristian Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aurelio Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cristian Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez misses with the body kick

and Rivera counters by clinching up.

Sanchez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rivera looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rivera can't do much from the bottom here.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rivera decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sanchez to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Rivera is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sanchez is just riding it out for now. Rivera eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rivera connects with a nice short shot to Sanchez's temple.

Rivera is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sanchez sees it coming and defends easily.
Sanchez is trying to stand up here but Rivera is controlling him well.
Sanchez is trying to maintain the position but Rivera is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rivera winds up and cracks Sanchez with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Sanchez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rivera keeps working.

Sanchez postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Sanchez tries to advance to mount but can't.
Rivera managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Sanchez.
Sanchez is looking to take a break and control but Rivera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rivera regains half guard.
Sanchez wants to pass the guard but Rivera is defending well.
Rivera is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

I think Sanchez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
