Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rancid Crabtree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandayu Momochi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Momochi moves out of range as Crabtree throws a body kick.
Crabtree moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Crabtree fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've been told by Crabtree's head coaches at Montreal Fighter's Gym (5* Sparring) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Momochi avoids the head kick by Crabtree.
Crabtree is looking to clinch but Momochi is avoiding it.
Momochi feints the counter takedown.
A head kick misses from Crabtree.

Crabtree misses with a low kick as Momochi jumps back.
Crabtree swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Crabtree throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Momochi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Crabtree counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Crabtree throws a right and a left that Momochi avoids nicely.
Crabtree throws a sloppy head kick

and Momochi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Crabtree won't be happy with that.

Momochi goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Crabtree has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Momochi but great work by Crabtree.
You can see the frustration on Momochi 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Momochi is trying to control Crabtree's posture but Crabtree avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Momochi is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Crabtree is staying active.

Momochi gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Momochi wants to improve his position but Crabtree is controlling well.

Momochi is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Crabtree has his hands clasped together but Momochi extends and breaks Crabtree's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Momochi .
