And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jason Krimely!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Okunaba gets a double leg takedown into Krimely's guard.
Krimely is looking to stand back up but Okunaba counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Krimely.

It looks like Jason Krimely has been cut.
Krimely tries to hold on but Okunaba pushes him away.

Okunaba is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Krimely to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Krimely shrugs it off.

Okunaba looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Krimely really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Okunaba. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Okunaba's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Okunaba is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Krimely is surviving well by controlling Okunaba's body position as best he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Okunaba goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Krimely is on top in guard.
Okunaba has control of Krimely's left arm, preventing Krimely from doing any damage.
Krimely wants to control from the top but Okunaba keeps moving.
Okunaba is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Okunaba has Krimely pulled in close to control his posture.
Okunaba has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Krimely working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Krimely gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Okunaba to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Okunaba sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Krimely's guard.
Krimely is breathing heavily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Krimely can do anything to dispel that myth.

Okunaba is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Okunaba!

During a confident post fight interview, Kenton Okunaba thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Jason Krimely was interviewed post fight and said 'Good luck with the new version of the job of keeping it in a statement issued by the time of day and night with the best way for me and you know that the government has been a good idea but I don't know what to do '.
