The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Montgomery gets tackled into the cage by Brindle. Brindle maintains the clinch.
Montgomery tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brindle smiles and moves away.
Brindle stuffs the takedown attempt from Montgomery. Montgomery gets slowly back to his feet.
Brindle was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Brindle lands a lovely overhand right.
No joy there for Montgomery, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Montgomery fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dennis Brindle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cody Montgomery.
Brindle swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Montgomery is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Montgomery moves away from the strike by Brindle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brindle shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brindle showed some decent athleticism there.
Well, if Brindle is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Brindle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
