The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punch ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Burgundy moves away.
Burgundy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Punch swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Punch comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Burgundy throws a low kick but Punch avoids it.
Punch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Punch works Burgundy's body with a nice hook.
Burgundy throws an overhand right that lands on Punch's shoulder, as Punch tries to avoid the shot.

Punch pushes Burgundy up against the cage in a clinch.
Punch tries to work over Burgundy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Punch tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Punch blocks an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Punch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Punch plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Ron Burgundy has been cut.
Burgundy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Punch throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Burgundy.

Burgundy has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Punch tries to bum rush Burgundy with a series of wild strikes but Burgundy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Punch fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Burgundy on the side of the head.

Burgundy rushes Punch and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Punch scores with a shot to the side of Burgundy's head.
Burgundy digs a right hand underneath Punch's ribcage. Punch let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Burgundy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Burgundy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Punch looks to score with a jab to the body but Burgundy is just out of range.
Burgundy misses with an uppercut. Punch saw that one coming.
Burgundy scores with a nice right hand.
Punch tries a head kick but it misses.
Burgundy cracks Punch with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Punch tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Burgundy pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Punch is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ron Burgundy really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Spartan Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
