PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between The Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Fardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fardy is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Smack My Bitch Up. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Beast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Fardy!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jorge Garcia and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beast changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fardy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Beast is trying to get an arm triangle but Fardy is defending well.

Beast working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Beast wants to take a breather but Fardy manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Beast.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beast slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beast wants to control from the top but Fardy keeps moving.

Beast drops back looking for a leg! Fardy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fardy manages to kick Beast off! Beast jumps back into Fardy's guard.

Josh Fardy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Beast tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fardy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Beast somewhat.
A little jabbing left from Fardy on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

and Beast counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Beast feints and as Fardy raises his hands in defense, Beast changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Fardy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Beast controls the pace.

Still in half guard, Beast seems content to control.

Beast is working for a kimura but Fardy is defending it quite comfortably.
Fardy wants to improve his position but Beast is controlling well.

Beast is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fardy defends it well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Fardy lands with an uppercut that bounces Beast off the cage and back into range.
Beast displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fardy throws out the jab.

Fardy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beast. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Beast looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Beast ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fardy moves away.

Beast bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Beast is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fardy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Fardy wants to control but Beast postures up.

Beast maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Fardy could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Beast has cracked it and Fardy is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Beast!

A relieved looking The Beast thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
