The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calhoun dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Chin. That did some damage!

Calhoun fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Chin, pushing him back against the cage.

Calhoun jumps guard and drags Chin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Calhoun wants to sweep but no luck.

Chin wants to stand but Calhoun is controlling his posture from full guard.

Calhoun is working an open guard so Chin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Calhoun accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

A head kick from Chin lands but Calhoun takes it in his stride.
Chin tries to clinch up but Calhoun circles away and keeps his distance.

Calhoun could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Calhoun moves into range and clinches up with Chin.

Calhoun is trying to pull guard but Chin turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Calhoun breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Calhoun closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Chin to the mat! Chin manages to get full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Hershel Calhoun will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Chin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Calhoun swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Chin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Calhoun is trying to defend but Chin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Calhoun has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
