Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David C. Marvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marvin and Scott Hall. Marvin comes into the arena with Superman Theme blaring out of the sound system. Scott Hall has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hall. Marvin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Marvin attempts a counter takedown but Hall avoids it well and moves away.
Hall looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hall tests Marvin's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hall scores with a nice strike.
Hall throws a body kick that misses.

Marvin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Hall is not content to let Marvin control the position.

Marvin goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hall rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Marvin's guard! Nice work there by Hall!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hall takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hall wants to pass to mount but Marvin is defending the position.
Hall seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hall with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hall is looking to slow Marvin down with leg kicks.

Hall ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marvin moves away.

Marvin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hall.
Marvin half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A nice leg kick lands there from Hall.
Hall lands a nice shot that snaps Marvin's head back.

Marvin quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Marvin tries for a kimura but Hall is defending well.
Marvin wants to control for a moment but Hall uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Marvin is keen to just control but Hall is a slippery customer.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hall can do anything to dispel that myth.
Marvin uses his free foot to push down on Hall's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hall.
Hall has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Marvin is persistently looking for the submission but Hall is defending it well.

Marvin is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hall knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hall for a finish.

Marvin is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hall has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Hall is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marvin is looking for the choke from the back position but Hall is controlling his hands well.

Hall wants to control his opponent's hands but Marvin gets his hands free.

Marvin has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Hall! Can he survive? No! He's out! Marvin gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
