Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Silvio Crespo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mashrafe Mortaza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Silvio Crespo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mashrafe Mortaza!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mortaza fails with a takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mortaza.
Crespo scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Crespo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mortaza is defended easily by Crespo.
It looked like Crespo wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Mortaza has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Silvio Crespo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mashrafe Mortaza.

Mortaza has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mortaza accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Crespo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Mortaza doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Mortaza has his foot on Crespo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Crespo works his way back into a safe position though.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Crespo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Mortaza fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Crespo avoids it really well and circles away.

Mortaza is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Crespo is defending well.
Crespo lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mortaza backwards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Crespo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mortaza has time to react.

Crespo leaves Mortaza with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Crespo connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Mortaza's hands.

Crespo throws a big uppercut that drops Mortaza! More strikes from Crespo and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Mortaza lies dazed against the cage as Crespo celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Silvio Crespo!
