Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Mercy!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercy waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dorsey.
Mercy just misses with a punch to the body.
Mercy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dorsey defending well as Mercy loads up on a big left hand.
Mercy swings away with a body shot that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Dorsey slips a jab and a cross from Mercy.

Dorsey shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dorsey showed some decent athleticism there.
Mercy flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Dorsey prevents Mercy from improving his position.
Mercy tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Mercy misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Dorsey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mercy keeps working.
Mercy is looking for a sweep. Dorsey is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dorsey not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Mercy strikes from the bottom but Dorsey passes into mount!
Dorsey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mercy avoids a series of strikes thrown by Dorsey.
Dorsey can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mercy is looking to escape.
Mercy wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Dorsey.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mercy can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mercy is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dorsey tries to control but Mercy wriggling away.
Dorsey manages to capitalize on a mistake by Mercy to take his back!
Mercy rolls, trying to escape but Dorsey keeps control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mercy turns into Dorsey and is now in his guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mercy stands up and waves to Dorsey to follow him.
Mercy looks winded!

Dorsey darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dorsey is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mercy has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mercy throws a strike from the bottom but Dorsey passes into side control!

Mercy tries to bench press Dorsey off him but Dorsey keeps the position.
Mercy is still trying to improve position.
Dorsey controlling the position.
Mercy tries to buck Dorsey off but Dorsey is having none of it.
A lull in the action here as Dorsey stalls from top position.
Dorsey working the head and body with strikes.
Mercy striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Mercy throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dorsey is looking to take a break and control but Mercy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mercy is being controlled here.
Dorsey wants to control but Mercy is keeping him busy.
Mercy is trying to get back to half guard.
Dorsey could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dorsey remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Dorsey takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Mercy to pass into mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dorsey can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mercy is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ernest Dorsey dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Mercy slips a jab and a cross from Dorsey.
Mercy connects with a combination that backs up Dorsey into the cage. Mercy lands a flurry of punches that gets past Dorsey's guard. Dorsey is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Mercy bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Mercy!
John Mercy decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
