The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maanpohja fails with the takedown.

Nealson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Maanpohja tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Nealson is in Maanpohja's guard.

Maanpohja looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Maanpohja can't keep his opponent in guard - Nealson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Nealson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maanpohja has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nealson has managed to get both his arms back between Maanpohja's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maanpohja had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nealson defends it easily.

Maanpohja is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nealson is aware though and is defending well.
Nealson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Maanpohja has his foot on Nealson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nealson works his way back into a safe position though.

Nealson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Maanpohja's guard.

Nealson scores with a big shot! Maanpohja's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Maanpohja! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
