Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Warren Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Mont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peter Mont has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Warren Wong's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Warren Wong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Mont!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mont bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wong's head.


It looks like Warren Wong has been cut.
Mont shoots in looking for a takedown. Wong tries to sprawl out of it but Mont keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mont misses with a takedown
and Wong counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Wong dives in and grabs Mont's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mont pushes down on Wong's head and hops out.
Wong on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Mont misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Warren Wong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Mont.
Wong shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mont but Mont pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wong looks to score with a jab to the body but Mont is just out of range.

Mont looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wong is fending him off so far but Mont persists. Nope, Wong circles away and we're back to standing.
Mont shoots for a takedown but Wong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wong is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mont sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wong throws a sloppy head kick
and Mont makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Wong really felt that one!
Horrible takedown attempt by Wong or perhaps it was just good defense by Mont, which made it look bad.
Mont drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Wong defends it well.
Mont tries to close the distance and clinch but Wong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mont closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mont looks winded!
Mont thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Wong is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wong is trying to stand up here but Mont is controlling him well.
Wong wants to get back to full guard.

Mont seems to be working for a kimura but Wong defends the submission attempt.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mont lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are battling for position here. Wong manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Wong pushes Mont off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wong tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mont sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wong somewhat.
Mont throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mont fails in his attempt to clinch.

Mont gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wong to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mont looking to control but Wong passes into half guard.

Mont tries to kick Wong off but Wong keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Wong will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Wong stands up and beckons Mont to join him on the feet.
Wong takes a kick to the side of the head.

Mont pushes Wong up against the cage in a clinch.
Wong prevents a takedown attempt there.

Wong has hold of one of Mont's legs. Mont is fighting the takedown attempt but Wong gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Wong gets to his feet. Mont looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Peter Mont seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wong throws a head kick that half lands.
Mont looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mont gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wong got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mont has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wong has managed to get both his arms back between Mont's legs - danger averted.
Mont wants to sweep but no luck.

That was a close round but I would say that Warren Wong will probably get the nod.

That was a close second round but I would say that Warren Wong will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Mont throws a leg kick which misses Wong's front leg but catches the back leg as Wong tries to avoid it.
Wong slaps away a takedown attempt from Mont, before circling back to the center of the mat.
It looked like Wong was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Wong shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mont as he jumps to the side.
Mont is looking for the big counter here.
Wong displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mont.
Wong went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mont shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wong sprawls well. Wong wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mont gets slowly back to his feet.

Wong looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mont pushes Wong off looking to stand but Wong dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mont tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Wong has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Wong controlling the position easily from mount.

Mont wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Good control from Wong.

Mont wants to escape the position.
Wong avoiding Mont 's attempts to control his hands.
Wong is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Wong has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Peter Mont has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mont is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Wong gets his way!
Warren Wong is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wong, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
