Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monkey Business (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Buddy Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Monkey Business!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Business shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Business was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Business is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Guy has escaped the position, nice work there.

Business is trying to get an arm triangle but Guy is defending well.
Guy defending against the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Business is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Guy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Guy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Business content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Business is looking for a kimura but Guy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Business to get the leverage.
Business is looking to pass Guy's guard but actually Guy recovers to full guard.
Guy managing to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Business closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Guy to the mat! Guy manages to get full guard.

Monkey Business showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Guy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Business might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Guy haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Business throws an elbow that misses. Guy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Business's guard. Nice move by Guy!

Business is looking for a triangle but Guy pushes his legs off easily.
Business is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Guy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Guy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Business has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Guy has managed to get both his arms back between Business's legs - danger averted.
Business not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Business had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Guy defends it easily.
Guy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Guy enables Business to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Guy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Business in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Business passes Guy's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Business is working for a kimura but Guy is defending it quite comfortably.

Business is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Guy defends it well.
Guy is not content to let Business control the position.
Business thows a huge punch but Guy dodges it nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Business is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Guy manages to get to full guard.
Business throws a big right hand that misses.
Monkey Business is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Business trying to control the position from guard on top but Guy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Buddy Guy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Business's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Monkey Business comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Business has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
